THE MORE YOU HAVE, THE WORSE IT IS

resource pool?

if the more you have, the worse it is, then the less you have the better it is
some sort of zen/feng shui thing. Minimalist interior design?
any sort of engineering or design thing really

remove clutter

ex-wives, ex-anything; every action you take has some drawback

picross-inspired device designer?
Like, there's a lot of clutter so you remove bits of it until you're left with what you need

code golf?

fewer and fewer instructions

DESIGN SOMETHING by using a custom language, which allows for defining things
the more tokens (words) you use, the slower SOMETHING functions

SOMETHING needs to be directly interactable by the player.

INSPIRATION: cook serve delicious + oil blue

commands include UDLR, ZXC to allow the player to assign hotkeys to certain systems

FENG SHUI is close fucking enough

it's the far future and you build structures/offices by coding them
the less code you use the ... better ... everything inside works
you then use hotkeys to open/close doors (based on tags?), manipulate A/C,

Each level starts with each tile having a color assigned (roygbiv), a number+letter assigned (chess notation, A1-H8), and some constant tags like "nonexistant" or "quiet"
the player can then use syntax like:
r -> $kitchen
>2 -> $desk
%D %2+1 -> o
| %B+A !> v
quiet ->

the language is defined in a pdf written in latex.

a seperate script defines actions, but IN THE SAME SYNTAX:
up : {
  door -> open
  door v -> open

}

a global FENG SHUI meter starts at a slight positive value (ex. 3) and decreases by 1 for each line of code in either script
lower feng shui means all actions occur slower, and negative events are more likely.
